35 years into their career, Incantation continues to blaze an unholy path all of their own. Pioneers of a brutal, cavernous variety of death metal, fans of great bands like Tomb Mold, Krypts, Gutvoid, and many more will hear the influence of the New Jersey natives running deep in these types of doom laden death metal bands.
Led by John McEntee, the sole remaining original member and founder of the band, they continue to use abstract album artwork, beginning with the masterpiece Onward to Golgotha, painted by Miran Kim, and continuing with their latest release Unholy Deification, painted by the great Eliran Kantor who has become a regular collaborator.
They also helped establish a black and white ink style of artwork for their singles, demos and shirt designs, by metal art pioneer Chris Moyen, who's style of work became a staple of black and death metal bands for decades, and continues to be the most popular style of artwork across heavy metal, writ large.
