Kathy Fire (Kathy Hogan, b. 1954) was a gay folk singer who was active in the feminism scene during the 70s and 80s. She founded the group Dyketactics! and was half of the duo Mother Rage with her then-partner, poet Barbara Ruth. This is from her only known release, Songs Of Fire: Songs Of A Lesbian Anarchist released in 1978. In later years, she has worked for the EPA and is now a lawyer. Kathy's description of this song: This song is the composite story of a lot of women's lives as I saw them evolve during my early political development in the National Organisation for Women. The spirit of the song made them laugh in the midst of a painfully difficult transition.
