Let’s explore the northernmost temple on Luxor's West Bank - a thousands years old ancient Egyptian temple of Seti the First. Let’s get to know more about one of the greatest, though underestimate pharaohs - Seti I; his life and astonishing achievements. Let’s venture inside rare visited but beautifully preserved temple proper, which bears wonderful ancient reliefs of Seti I, Ramesses II, and Ramses I as Seti dedicated part of the temple to his father, who ruled only for two years and didn’t have enough time to build his own mortuary temple. Seti I was also the first pharaoh to place the royal palace and magazines inside the temple premises, which makes this ancient site a precursor of later Ramesside mortuary temples. Let's also take a peak at the most famous Egyptian statues - the Colossi of Memnon commissioned along with the largest mortuary temple ever built in the Western Thebes by Amenhotep III - another underestimated pharaoh.
