Using your GPU as a Sound Card (nvidia rtx HDMI with 5.1 A/V Receiver): Full Setup Guide - GPU Audio

It's very simple to use your video card/gpu as a sound card. The benefit to doing this instead of using a dedicated sound card or motherboard sound card is you can use uncompressed digital 5.1(or 7.1) sound with a home theater receiver and home theater speakers...which are way better than using speakers made for computers such as klipsch promedia speakers, logitech z speakers, edifier speakers, etc. In this video I show how I use my rtx 3090 as my video card and my sound card. I hook up my system for 5.1 surround sound using hdmi cables and an hdmi audio video receiver.
