An Improvisation on the Perseus "Polaris" Steel Tongue Drum
-------------------------------
ABOUT THE DRUM:
The tongue drum seen in this video is a Perseus model, more particularly the "Polaris" tuning made by the German manufacturer Liquid Light Acoustics.
This drum is from the older generation, which was still made from stainless steel rather than their new "HY-NOX" steel.
Specifications:
-11 tongues
-2 harmonic overtones on each tongue
-deep center tone
-intense overtone frequency interaction
-welded resonance body of stainless steel
The notes of this particular drum are: C / G, G#, C, D, D#, F, G, G#, C, D (Ursa Minor / A = 440Hz)
This Steel Tongue Drum DOES NOT usually glow - here´s how I did it: https://youtu.be/E3Us3V-p66k

SOUND:
The sound in this video was edited different ways: I cut out all the unnecessary low frequencies below 60Hz to get rid of the humming from our heater and furthermore added some reverb.
Also EQ was applied to get rid of resonances and minimally shape the sound.
