Rory Dodd) Here's a treat for Jim's (and Meat Loaf's) fans: Jim Steinman's only album using his own name, now sounding a lot better! This is not a brickwall-compression "remaster", but an attempt at giving the album a decent EQ. I've heard about 4 or 5 sources of this album and sometimes it's been missing the two EP tracks, sometimes it's had too bright and kinda distorted treble but they all shared the same characteristic: This album sounds flat. The best sounding source I could find was a 1992 CD reissue that I based this on, and used an EQ profile from the song that was the most balanced already (Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through) as well as some other tricks to make the entire album sound way better. I chose to let the album tracklist have the intended order. (At least I think it is supposed to be?) Enjoy! Support Jim Steinman by buying his music whether it be this album, Pandora's Box, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler and so on.
