Shiva is Mahadeva, Adiyogi and most chanted mantra of Lord Shiva is ‘Om Namah Shivaya’. The mantra translates to I bow to Lord Shiva. Namah Shivaya is a mantra of five syllables and is preceded by Om (the Beena sound of universe). Chanting shiva mantra regularly purifies the mind and connects to the divine energy of Lord Shiva. Universe is made up of five elements so are we. The shiva panchakshara mantra connects and balances five elements. This calming and powerful shiva mantra attunes us to the universe and we can manifest what we wish to. This is a cleansing, wish fulfilling and liberating mantra of Lord Shiva.
Recite shiva mantra 108 times. If you are new to chanting practice then start with few number of repetitions like 11 times, 21 times and gradually increase. One can do the anushthana of 11 malas or more. The main factor to chanting is love and devotion.
