Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran + Hichki Rajasthani mashup by Rajnigandha Shekhawat

Hi, here is a mashup of Ed Sheeran’s monster hit Shape of you that I have fused with a very popular Rajasthani folk song called Aave Hichki . Given that there are thousands of Shape of you versions around, I initially thought about passing it up but a huge demand in my live concerts meant that I needed to work on it and when I did a rough demo for my Bhabhisa she loved it so much that she insisted I do a proper recording and video. I did not need more convincing and here it is - So this one is especially for her! It helps tremendously that I have the very talented Amit Ojha on my fast dial, who not only makes time for my impulsive musical ideas but also shoots me wonderfully, sometimes at nearly a moment’s notice! In this version we have added various local Rajasthani musical instruments like Murla, Khadtaal, Morchhang, Nagada, Dholl and Tabla. We have also added the sounds of Ghungroo, a bunch of tinkling bells that dancers across large parts of India wear on their feet to give spectators the sound of the rhythm they are dancing to. The shoot has been done at home in Jaipur, Rajasthan, at the same place where I shot my very first mashup of Cheap Thrills + Ghoomar ko lenjo.
