It was the spring of 2016 in Baldwinsville, central New York. A girl whom my current girlfriend knew very well had committed suicide. This girl was only in 10th grade and 15 years of age, with her whole life ahead of her. Many of my friends still struggle with her loss today and it sent shockwaves across the small Baldwinsville community.
The moral of the story is that teen depression and suicide is becoming an increasing issue in our country and also worldwide. It is the second leading cause of death in America and causes more deaths a year than cancer and many more diseases COMBINED in teenagers and adults ranging from ten years old to twenty-four years old. It should not take someone’s life in your local community to make people aware of that and people should not have to face the major wake up call that I and many others did in that spring of 2016. Although many people forgot after a week, many people like myself still remember that solemn spring day and still face the thought of “What if I had helped” every day in our life. I barely knew her as a person and had never met her but I wish that I had. I will never forget her memory. The purpose of EDM For Suicide Prevention is to spread awareness of suicide in American teens and adults which is why 100% of profits are going towards the organization in our local community now run by this girl’s mother known as “Stand Against Suicide”. By buying and streaming this EP and enjoying the music you are not only connecting with me, Zomtek, but you are also putting money towards our cause for the better of things in the central New York Community and hopefully someday the country’s community. And remember, there is ALWAYS help out there.
