Are the big 5 as generous as they claim to be, and therefore do they deserve an advantage in the game? And is automatic qualification actually an advantage worth fighting for? France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom automatically qualified for the Grand Final since the introduction of a Semi-Final in 2004 after already having the privilege of participation regardless of their previous results, other than the rest of the countries that were excluded if they ranked too low in the past 5 years. They were joined by Italy after their return in 2011. sources: http://www.rbs.com/news/2016/05/the-cost-of-winning-the-eurovision-song-contest.html http://www.eurovision.de/news/Was-kostet-der-ESC-die-Teilnehmerlaender,gebuehren110.html http://blog.prinz.de/grand-prix/schafft-die-big-5-ab/ https://oikotimes.com/2016/07/06/eurovision-2017-how-much-did-it-cost-for-the-countries/ https://www.eurovisionary.com/much-eurovision-participation-cost/ ► Subscribe for more great content : http://bit.ly/1N0APsD Twitter: https://twitter.com/pascalmarchev Instagram: http://instagram.com/pascalmarchev
