Here's How to Make R&B Slow Jam, Love Song Instrumental Beats with Cakewalk Sonar X3. After completing the beat in Ableton live, it's now time to import the tracked out wav files of the beat into a new session of Sonar. Of course your beat can be any beat made from any daw of your choice. If you buy a beat from another producer, try to get the tracked out version of the beat if it is within your budget.

This is the order which I work my songwriting process. It helps me focus on the most important aspects of a song.The melody is going to show what your song is going to sound like. The concept is going to show what your song is about. The hook will reflect both the concept and the melody. The verses tell the story of the hook. I may make is sound overly simplistic, but this method may help your songwriting process very much.
Writing a good R&B song usually involves love, sex, feelings, and/or a combination of all of those. These aren't the only subjects, but they are extremely common. Obviously, you can write about whatever subject you want, but outside of these you may have a hard time getting others to agree that your song is an R&B song.
Once I'm done with the writing, the process of recording the record is very easy. First start with the hook and lay your main melody. Sometimes you can just stick with that or you can build vocals and/or harmonies around the main melody. It is completely up to the individual writer and artist. I love harmonies, so I mostly use them in my records.
After the hook is done, I focus on the rest of the song. Once recording is done, its time to mix, master and enjoy!
