Shakira 1998 Interview- Part 1

 

This 1998 interview with a 21-year-old Shakira is one of several I did for a news report about the growing Latin music business, and the fact that many artists were about to release English-language recordings. Shakira said she was still perfecting her English-language skills. However, as you can hear, she was already very good. My impression from the interview and a brief off-camera conversation was that Shakira was very smart, personable and fun. . . And those eyes! Luckily, I saved the full interview. The quality is not perfect. This is not from a master recording. (I also interviewed Ricky Martin. I'll post that in the next couple of weeks.)
