N-Dubz are an English hip hop trio from Camden Town, London — cousins Dappy (Costadinos “Dino” Contostavlos) and Tulisa (Tula Contostavlos), alongside their friend Fazer (Richard Rawson). After winning the MOBO Award for Best Newcomer in 2007, they became one of the defining British urban acts of their generation, releasing three consecutive platinum albums — Uncle B (2008), Against All Odds (2009) and Love.Live.Life (2010) — through All Around The World, and taking home Best UK Act at the 2009 MOBO Awards.
This is the Boy Better Know remix of “Na Na,” pairing N-Dubz with Skepta — the British grime MC Joseph Junior Adenuga, co-founder of the BBK collective he runs with his brother JME. Where the original leans on Dappy’s trademark bounce and the group’s pop-rap hooks, the remix pushes the track toward the harder grime end of both camps, with Skepta dropping a full BBK verse over the beat. The collaboration was a natural fit for two of the biggest names in late-2000s British urban music, and it foreshadowed their official 2011 single together, “So Alive.”
