A couple of rain breaks did halt the momentum of the home side which boosted the Afghan bowlers who bowled excellently in the first half of the run chase.
With Bangladesh struggling at 64/4, two impressive youngsters Towhid Hridoy (47* off 32) and Shamim Hossain (33 off 25), played beautifully taking calculative risks. Both pushed the team closer to victory but with a sensational final over from Karim Janat which involved a stunning hat trick everyone chew their nails before Shoriful Islam slammed the winning boundary.
We can expect a sizzling encounter in the series decider as well. The top order of both teams needs to step in while the bowlers need to control the run flow in the slog overs. Overall, it should be a cracking fixture. Can Bangladesh sweep the T20I leg or will the Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan level it up with a crucial win?
Afghanistan had a batting collapse at the start but Nabi came up with a rearguard action and Azmatullah played a lovely cameo. But their bowlers to an extent let them down despite having a score of more than 150 to defend on a Sylhet wicket which assisted the spinners a little. Will they be able to come back today? Or will Bangladesh avenge the ODI series loss?
