Sha Carri Richardson is a dynamic American sprinter, who competes in the 100 meters and 200 meters. No matter what you know or heard about her, ShaCarri achievements in track and field are nothing short of remarkable.
At 19, she etched her name in the record books by breaking numerous records and leaving a lasting impact on the sport. She once blazed through the 100-meter race at the #ncaa championships, setting a record with a lightning-fast time of 10.75 seconds. This remarkable feat made her one of the world’s fastest women and solidified her place among the top 10 fastest women in history. Did you hear that? That’s who #shacarririchardson is!
That alone would make her name known to people across the globe, but Sha'Carri Richardson is not only famous but also controversial. Despite winning the Olympic trials, Richardson’s dreams of competing in the Tokyo Olympics were shattered when she missed the 2021 Tokyo Olympics because of a month-long suspension over a positive marijuana test. She is literally just a few more steps away from the #trackandfield Olympics, which most athletes can only dream of, but she wasn’t even able to step on the track for the event. As if this wasn’t enough to weigh Sha’Carri down, this setback was followed by controversy and further disappointments, including being eliminated in the first round of the 100 m at the national championships.
