BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA: Vlogging a weekend in the city which included a walk up to Bratislava Castle, a stroll through the mediaeval old town & a cruise along the Danube River.

Join me on a weekend in Slovakia’s capital Bratislava where I spent some time exploring a few different areas of the city centre. Learn a little history with me as I talk you through how the former Czechoslovakia peacefully became two countries - Czechia & Slovakia.
Over the weekend I headed up to Bratislava Castle (Bratislavský hrad) where I found a national museum and some eye-catching views across the city. I walked back down the hill and past St Martin’s Cathedral on my way to the mediaeval old town. Once there I explored the old buildings and a historical entrance to the city called Michael's Gate (Michalská brána).
One of my favourite sights however was the communist built (and styled) UFO Tower which is part of the main bridge in the city that crosses the Danube River. It has a distinctive soviet-era appearance and really does look like a spaceship just landed on the bridge.
During the vlog I’ll show you some of the city’s most notable landmarks and then take you on a cruise along the Danube River for an altogether different perspective on many of the landmarks.
