In this video, I will show you how to check the status of your VA claim and I will also let you know how long Va claims are taking in 2023. When it comes to checking your VA claim status, there are a few things you need to know about the built-in status updates that the Veterans Benefits Administration provides. You need to be aware of the dates of your C&P exam and your VA decision letter. Things like gathering evidence and if you see that VA closed the request notice are updates that do not require you to take action. These are more like internal memos than things the Veterans Administration should be sending out to disabled veterans. VA claims usually take about 5 months to be decided. In order to win your claim, you must have a current diagnosis, current symptoms, and a nexus.
Records and evidence are not better if there are more of them. Essentially, you must submit a medical document with your current diagnosis, current symptoms, and a nexus, which can be accomplished by having your doctor complete a DBQ. There is no need to submit ten years' worth of medical records, since they want things that show the diagnosis is current. Current means the last six months to a year, so older stuff won't be reviewed. By only submitting a claim with two or three disabilities, you will make it easier for the VA rater to evaluate your claim, and it will be easier for you to keep things organized since you need to sell your disabilities to both the VA rater and the C&P examiner.
