On May 6, affected by heavy rainfall, the lower section of the Qingfeng dam and river embankment in Licun Town, broke about 30 meters. Subsequently, four villages downstream were flooded, and about 300 people were affected. Relevant local authorities are using flood control materials such as stones and wooden piles to seal the breach. Affected by continuous heavy rainfall, the water levels of the two rivers Menghe River and Hepi Village diversion canal in Zhongzhou Township have soared and overflow at anytime. At present, the local government is organizing firefighting, civil rescue forces and township officials to carry out rescue. The heavy rain in Jiangxi has affected 293,000 people and 10,000 people have been relocated. Heavy rainfall is forecast to batter parts of Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong from Saturday to Sunday.
