Chattapani Devotee's story is very important.
Chattapani lived in Sawat Town. He is a well-educated devotee. Chattapani is very good at learning and preaching Buddha's sermons, and solving a problem that arises regarding Dharma in a multifaceted manner.
Because of this, Anagami was on the path. Many people worshiped Chhattpani. One day, King Kosol came to see the Buddha while he was giving a sermon. When the king came, everyone stood up and paid respect to the king, but Chattapani remained in the same seat. That is because he was an advance worshiper.
But King Kosol got angry about this. The thought occurred to the king that Chattapani had not respected the king. The Buddha knew that immediately. The Buddha immediately took steps to dispel the king's wrong thinking.
In other words, he explained to the king who Chhattapani was and showed his many virtues in front of the king. The king's anger disappeared with that praise of the Buddha. One day when King Kosol was on the top floor of his palace, he saw Chhattapani Upasaka walking on the road and brought him to the palace. The king was even more impressed that he came to the palace with great respect for the king that day.
Then the king invited this Chhattapani upasaka to preach the Dhamma to the queens of the royal house. But the worshiper rejected it, pointing out that the preaching of Dhamma in the king's house was the work of the Buddha's disciple Sangha. Then Ananda Therun took the steps for that. When the Ananda theros who were more in the palace preached Dhamma, Goddess Mallika listened attentively, but the Queen Vasabhakttiya listened restlessly.
