Train Watching, CP and CN trains in the Thompson Canyon, British Columbia, Canada, in June 2013

This is a camping trip to the Thompson River Canyon to enjoy the freight train traffic on the CP an CN mainlines to Vancouver. I've camped here with my dad, over 20 times, and there are about 60 trains per 24 hour period through here. The base camp, Goldpan campground with BC Parks, has now been shut down by BC Parks. My dad and I travelled many times here between 1996 and 2013. I have some 1998 VHS video I will eventually post before directional running occurred. This video showcases the area between Lytton Canyon and Spences Bridge. It starts with a great train horn at the Spences Bridge railway crossing on the CP mainline. I posted this awesome train horn separately on my channel earlier. This is a separate video with 5.1 audio of that horn. A distanced recording to truly enjoy the overtones. For the one night we were there, CN averaged 16 trains in a 24 hour period, and CP averaged 26 trains in a 24 hour period, it was slow. The only campsites now in this area that are open for train watching are Juniper Beach at the top of the canyon, and Kumsheen near Lytton in the heart of the Canyon.
