Summary :-
OP (29M) owns a 3-bedroom villa with a pool in the backyard. He lives alone with his gentle 60-pound German Shepherd dog. OP’s entitled and unfriendly neighbor had been breaking in and using his pool without permission, despite being repeatedly told not to.
OP’s neighbor continued to bring up the topic of using the pool, and OP always said no. OP’s dog is very protective and growled at Bob when he came around.
One day, while OP was at work, he came to know that his neighbor had broken into his backyard once again to use the pool. He drove back home to confront his neighbor, only to find him screaming in pain on the ground, with OP’s dog standing over him. It had injured him, causing him to pass out
OP felt guilty and scared and immediately called the ambulance. He finds that his neighbor has to be hospitalized for a long time.
The incident left OP feeling frustrated and stressed. He never expected his dog to attack anyone and is feeling guilty and remorseful for what happened. He has been paying for his medical bills and treatment.
The neighbor is now demanding a large sum of money as compensation for his pain and suffering. If OP didn’t comply, he would take legal action. OP doesn’t give in to his demand, though.
OP had already warned the neighbor to stay away from the pool and had posted a "Beware of Dog" sign.
The situation is complicated by the fact that the neighbor is attacked all over his body and is seriously injured so he has to be hospitalized for a long time.
Now, OP is wondering if he was in the wrong for any of this.
