Lucknow Super Giants have returned home and they will be hosting the Gujarat Titans today. A win here will take the hosts to the top of the table and that is enough motivation to fire on all cylinders. LSG have notched up 4 wins out of 6 games and are looking solid on most fronts. In their last game they played out of their skin to win a tight contest against RR and that will give them immense confidence. Most of their bowlers were at their miserly best and helped them win the crunch moments.
A fantastic bowling performance from the Lucknow Super Giants has contained the home side the Gujarat Titans to a modest total of 135/6 in their 20 overs. Naveen-ul-Haq (1/19) and Krunal Pandya (2/16) stole the show with Hardik Pandya (66 off 50) doing the hard yards with the bat.
Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first with KL Rahul suggesting he would have done the same. Sai Sudharsan was replaced by Vijay Shankar in the GT XI. Krunal Pandya was introduced in the second over of the match and chipped in with the big wicket of Shubman Gill who walked off for a second ball duck.
Hardik Pandya promoted himself up the order at number 3 and added 68 runs with opener Wriddhiman Saha who missed his half century by just 3 runs playing in his 150th IPL fixture. Krunal Pandya was the bowler accounting for the senior pro's wicket as well.
Amit Mishra joined the fun getting rid of Abhinav Manohar in the 12th over and bowled 2 overs conceding only 9 runs. Ravi Bishnoi was taken to the cleaners giving away 49 wicketless runs in his 4 overs. Naveen got the better of Vijay Shankar as the comeback man was cleaned up for just 10 runs becoming the only other batter behind Pandya and Saha to get into double figures.
Marcus Stoinis bowled brilliantly in the middle overs using his variations in pace do good effect and finished with 2/20 in 3 overs as the Titans batters struggled to build partnerships. Pandya played throughout the innings after coming down to bat in the 2nd over and smashed 4 sixes and just 2 fours in his knock. Looks like an easy total for the Super Giants to chase but the Titans bowlers are also full of surprises.
