"La La Land" - a scene directed by Hailey Sherman

For an assignment in film school, we had to select a scene out of a pre-selected assortment of films to make our own. Having never seen La La Land at the time, I chose that film and was given only the dialogue from a scene in the film. I added my own meaning to the script, in addition to my own blocking and notes for the actors, chose costumes, and selected every other aspect of the scene and filming down as well. After choosing a location and rehearsing with my amazing Webster Conservatory actors, my classmates worked as my crew as I directed the scene and made it my own. Thank you to my amazing actors and crew who helped this scene come to life. This was my first time directing a true narrative piece and I can't wait to direct even more!
