Death of Shanquella Robinson Shanquella Robinson, a 25-year-old woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, arrived in San José del Cabo, a resort city on Mexico's Baja California peninsula, with six friends in October. She was discovered dead in the rental property where they were staying a day later. Robinson's friends told her mother she died from alcohol poisoning, but her death certificate stated that she died from a spinal cord and neck injury.
