Soya Bean Seed Varieties/Innoculation & Planting/First Herbicides: Soya Bean Farming Basics: Part 2

 

Our soya bean story for the 2022/23 season continues with Part 2, which begins after the land had been cleared and the fields eventually 'tractored'. The next task was to choose which seed variety to procure for planting this season. We then describe the importance of inoculating legume seeds with bradyryzobium bacteria before planting. We then share the steps we take to plant our soya beans seed manually, and then how we begin to protect the crop from weeds after planting with a pre-emergence selective herbicide. The video concludes with the soya bean seeds having started to germinate in the various fields across the farm.
