Update: Sudowrite is the best AI for Fiction. https://www.sudowrite.com?via=derek
I also made my own AI writing tool, to get more creative and unique writing:

Can you write a whole book with AI? I played around with the new gpt4 chatbot and open AI... and it's scary good. Yes, there are complex and controversial issues with AI software, but at a base level, I see it as a big improvement over editing software, and also as a tool for research and brainstorming.
Here's a review of the best AI writing tools I've tested:

And you'll need a plot template to generate one for your story:

This isn't a detailed walkthrough of how to use GPT4 to write a novel. It's a first-impressions stress-test of GPT4 to see what it's capable of. So I did some things I wouldn't typically do in a real project, like use specific author names. You can probably skip the first 4 minutes...
I'll post a list of best prompts for authors soon on my site. I'm also sending an email soon but just cut 35,000 people from my list... so if you don't get it, I'll post links here.
Part of me is uncomfortable talking about AI at all... but I got an invite as guest lecturer at a big university; and the discussion about how AI will impact/destroy/affect creative pursuits is vast, and I'm reasonably proficient in the history of art and literature.
If you want to comment, tell me why you hate AI, love it, or share some impressive samples of what you're used it for.
If you want something new to play with, I don't think I've told you about http://www.storyspook.com yet - you can insert your writing and get it edited or rephrased in a ton of styles quickly. Try it out, see what you think.
We're in very early day - but at the same time (!) AI is already everywhere, inside of all your favorite writing and editing tools and software. So this stuff might feel sketchy and miraculous, or somehow tragic and dystopian. But it's *here*. I'm not sure how I'll be using it yet in my own writing process, I'm still editing and writing the old-fashioned way, but the progress is slow and plodding. I'm open to finding easier ways to improve my writing and tell my stories.

Hey there - I'm Derek Murphy. I'm a fine artist who became a book cover designer, then started writing young adult scifi and fantasy. I've spent almost 20 years living abroad, have a PhD in comparative literature (revolutionary politics in Paradise Lost), and have been featured in CNN for renting castles to use as writing retreats. Although I'm not working with clients anymore, I've built a ton of resources to help indie authors write, design and publish bestselling books.
On this channel, I talk about writing, publishing and creating personal freedom with unconventional business strategies and providing value. My videos are unpolished and a little raw, because we travel full-time and I focus on content, not production quality.
