The Victoria Falls Hike is one of my favourite hikes in Dominica #767
Getting there is a long drive from Roseau, about 1 hour and 20 minutes but, it is definitely worth it.
Victoria Falls is located near the village of Delices; on the southeast coast of Dominica. The waterfall is 165 ft high and flows into the White River sourced from the Boiling Lake. Before the trail, there is a 5 minutes drive or 12 minutes until you reach a house and Rastaman Restaurant. Admission to the hiking trail is free, however, parking costs $5 USD.
I would say that the hike is for adventurous people as it is rated at a moderate level. The duration is about 45 minutes. You will trek through the rainforest, cross the river about 3 to 4 times and climb boulders to reach up to the waterfall.
In this video, we did not go all the way up to the waterfall as it was raging more than normal due to heavy rainfall. On a normal day, the water is a greenish blue because of the minerals in the water.
When visiting, please be cautious! A guide is recommended.
