Rotten egg smell on well water is hydrogen sulfide gas, and hydrogen peroxide removes it by oxidizing the sulfide before it reaches your filter. No chlorine taste, no chemical residue left in the water.
NOTE ON THE MODEL SHOWN: this video shows the J-PRO-22, which we no longer stock. It's been replaced by the J-PRO-38. Everything below about how peroxide injection works and how the pump switches on and off applies to both — only the pump itself changed. If you already own a J-PRO-22, we still support it, and the service links are further down.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
Peroxide is injected as water leaves the well, then flows through a catalytic carbon backwash filter that captures the oxidized sediment. On water with heavy iron or hardness, a Pro-OX iron filter and softener go in after the carbon.
THREE WAYS TO SWITCH THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY
1. Wired to the pressure switch — lowest cost and the most common. The peroxide pump runs whenever the well pump runs.
2. Pre-wired flow switch — no wiring at the pressure switch. The flow switch plugs into the wall and the peroxide pump plugs into the flow switch.
3. Proportional feed with a flow meter — the meter tells the pump to feed more or less based on actual flow. Use this if you're injecting downstream of the pressure tank, if the well is a long way from the house, on a community well, or on a constant-pressure variable-speed pump.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT ON THE J-PRO-38
Solution tanks are 10, 15, 25 and 50 gallon, where the J-PRO-22 was 5, 15 and 35.
Proportional feed is built into the pump as an auto mode rather than a separate setup.
The J-PRO-38 also runs chlorine and soda ash, not just peroxide.
Still dual voltage, 110 or 220.
