Thought Bubble 2022: In Conversation with Gustaffo Vargas & Martin Simmonds (Sunday 13th Nov 2022)

 

Over the weekend of Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th November 2022, the UK's premier celebration of comic art and creativity, the Thought Bubble Comic Art Festival, concluded a week of talks, exhibitions, workshops and more with a massive convention held over the four halls of the Harrogate Convention Centre. The Convention Collective's Leonard Sultana (An Englishman In San Diego) headed down to take in as much as he could of the three main exhibition halls and the talks/signing hall, bumping into and managing to talk to some of the invited guests. Here, on the Sunday morning of the convention, Leonard managed a two-for-one! Gustaffo Vargas, Peruvian-based independent comics creator and Martin Simmonds, award-winning artist behind books such as THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH and FRIENDO, were deep in conversation when Leonard interrupted their meeting of minds! Leonard talks to them about their work, what they both had made of Thought Bubble up to that point and what the possibliity would be of an actual collaboration between the pair....!
