昨日(4/7/2022)開始城巴雙層電動巴士#8910 行走啟德區路線以收集更多營運數據，我反而想到了較早前拍攝的九巴5D線。九巴5D循環來往德福花園和紅磡，為麗晶花園及啟德發展區往返土瓜灣至紅磡黃埔花園提供全日約半小時一班的服務。其中德福花園總站位於港鐵九龍灣車廠之上，出入時需使用連接位業界的行車天橋前往，是香港比較少有的離地車站設計。路線本來也為了服務前啟德機場貨運區的市民通勤，故乘坐前龍運機場巴士便很有親切感。走線因過份冗長而獲建議參考城巴608線沿承啟道反方向的更沿前啟德機場跑道往返土瓜灣區，不再服務大部份啟晴、新蒲崗等地以免與鐵路惡性競爭。回想當日路線等提昇服務改派雙層亦全靠啟德發展區的居民支持，如今將不能再服務該處，則有過橋抽板的感覺。
乘坐的是九巴富豪AVBE89 MX9771，是前龍運半豪華車#401 及後期改回普通車的#710。拍攝之時已有數位龍運富豪兄弟因機件問題或牌照到期而提早退役，便知這批不能拆除行李架以提升載客量的二手車兇多吉少。得知這日MX9771 有行走5D時便立即前往追捕。前半豪華車、龍運富豪B9TL名義上最後一員、路線即將改動等元素放在一起便是恰到好處，加上車牌數字組合‘97’與‘71’又有點意思，值得一戰。梯位漫畫式宣傳CPR急放方法的消防廣十分有趣，但車軨被除下則令外觀減少一點分。從九龍灣站前往德福花園總站花了一點時間，幸好是即班搭中14:05的班次不用久等。車長全程駕駛得比較安全，除了是車程本身很漫長外車輛本身都有點疲倦，總站花了數分才能成功著車。沿途上客人數不多，到了黃埔後人數才顯著上升，同時車長亦有提速，最終此程花了85分完成接載近40人次乘客，比起坐一圈城巴85精神上還更折磨。坐前機場區路線告別昔日機場車，可能比起坐短豬更有意思吧。
Yesterday (4/7/2022), Citybus double-decker electric bus #8910 started servicing Kai Tak route, reminding me of this route. KMB 5D runs between Telford Garden and Hung Hom, providing a half-hourly service between Regent Garden, Kai Tak to To Kwa Wan and Whampoa Garden in Hung Hom. The Telford Gardens terminus is located above the MTR Kowloon Bay depot, and access to the station is via a flyover, which is a rare off-ground station in Hong Kong. It was originally designed to serve the public in the former Kai Tak Airport Cargo area, so riding an ex-Long Win Airport bus has a very intimate feeling. The route is recommended to alter referting to CTB 608 which runs along the opposite direction of Cheng Kai Road to and from To Kwa Wan area, not to serve Kai Ching, San Po Kong and other places to avoid competition with the MTR. Recall that the day the route and other upgraded services to assign double-decker relies on the support of the residents of the Kai Tak area, now will no longer be able to serve the place, tragic.
The ride was on KMB Volvo AVBE89 MX9771, a former LWB semi-luxury bus #401 or ordinary #710. Worth filming as it was kind of the last B9TL in LWB, plus the number plate combination '97' and '71' was meaningful. The removal of the wheel cover makes the appearance less admirable. Fortunately, it was the 14:05 departure and I could ride it on time. The driver drove safely throughout the journey, except for the long journey, the bus itself was a tired of taking a few minutes to start the engine. There were not many passengers along the way, but the number of passengers increased significantly after arriving at Whampoa, and the driver also increased the speed. 85mins to complete the ride, taking the former airport area route to say goodbye to the former airport bus, perhaps it is more interesting than taking an ASV.
