Taking a look inside a dead Maxtor LXT340SY hard drive

After I sent the video of the dead JTS Champion, some people were interested by the drive that was stuck to the wall under it. Turns out I had recorded that drive atempting (and failing) its seektest before I stuck it there in April. So here's the inside of the Maxtor LXT340SY trying its seektest! The way these drives are built is very unusual and quite interesting. All of the internals are held in between two metal plates, that are kept in place inside the actual drive's casing with rubber peices (Which had started to disintegrate on this one) Apparently those are quite rare. I had another one when I was yonger so I didn't realise that was the case when I got this one hence why I had not uploaded it before. Considering the prices people are asking for a Maxtor LXT, it is not likely I'll get another one of these. Interested by hard drives? Join my discord server! :) https://discord.gg/xGxZyuKh8g
