Hou Yu-ih
New Taipei mayor
Actually New Taipei City has been in the midst of an epidemic for more than three years now. We have not only had to fight the epidemic, but also to do a good job with municipal administration and infrastructure. The epidemic in New Taipei is the nation’s top priority. We must shoulder the burden of standing on the front line and tackling all the problems we encounter, big and small.
Hsu Chen-wei
Hualien County commissioner
We have a firm foothold in Eastern Taiwan as we keep the whole world in view. Spreading happiness across Hualien – that is our mission.
Pan Men-an
Pingtung County commissioner
This is a day of gratitude. It’s a moment in which we are very grateful and extremely moved. To be ranked a five-star county commissioner is a blessing to me and an honor to the residents of my county. My colleagues have fought by my side for nearly eight years, giving their work all their effort and the most meticulous care. I want to thank everyone for their support. But we won’t sit back and relax because of this. In the future, we will forever serve as volunteers for Pingtung County.
Pan scored a five-star rating for the fourth time in a row, ending his tenure as commissioner on a high note. Weng and Huang, representing Chiayi, joined the five-star club for the first time.
Huang Min-hui
Chiayi City mayor
Chiayi City’s position within Taiwan is like Taiwan’s position within the world. We are even more grateful to our city’s people. Everyone felt a sense of crisis and was not willing to let Chiayi become a forgotten city.
Weng Chang-liang
Chiayi County commissioner
Not only have we improved everyone’s quality of life, we have also expanded Chiayi’s role as an agricultural and industrial county. We hope to ride this momentum to keep on improving Chiayi County.
In the 2022 rankings, “most improved” awards went to Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai, Kinmen County Commissioner Yang Cheng-wu, and Hsinchu County Commissioner Yang Wen-ke.
