1998 C5 Corvette - Spekter Werkes Rear Bumper Custom Spacer

 

As you all know, I installed a Specter Werkes fiberglass rear bumper cover a little while ago. It doesn't fit perfect, SOOOO, there's a space of about 1/4" along the top. The body shop didn't want to tighten the screws as it would have pulled the cover down to far and broke the fiberglass. So now that I live in Tennessee, I don't have them to rely on anymore so I took it upon myself to see what I could come up with for the filler piece. I used a piece of wood as my template and I will make the permanent piece from a phenolic strip that will be easy to heat and mold to the curve of the car. Should work well if I can find a piece. I also cleaned the car a little for an upcoming show that's in Big Sandy, Tennessee this next Saturday. I t will most likely be my 1st and last show here as we need to make a big decision about life.... Stay safe, Stay healthy and most of all..... STAY GRAPE!
