Sonic Mania: Super Plus Hyper Edition is a Full Game Edit Mod of Sonic Mania Plus made by Batman Sonic Team.
Story (Super Mode):
After Encore Mode, Sonic was lying down on Angel Island, however, the Phantom Ruby portal appeared and sucked him in. Sonic had arrived to Time Prison Zone, and the Phantom Ruby told Sonic that the world is in a disaster and that he needs to stop Eggman. The Phantom Ruby turned Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles (Tails and Knuckles were already in Time Prison Zone) into their super forms, but they weren't invincible & fast.
Story (Hyper Mode):
After the battle in Time Prison Zone, Sonic had arrived to an empty place. The Phantom Ruby had then shown his identity and said to Sonic that Mighty & Ray were in Time Prison Zone too and were actually kidnapped. Sonic was teleported to Palmtree Panic, having to save Mighty & Ray, he also found out that the Phantom Ruby was evil all this time by helping Fleetway Super Sonic bring back Infinite.
- What's new in version 2.2 -
• New Metallic Madness Bad Future Palette.
• Added Encore Mode version of Sand Plant.
• New Title Screen Sprite.
• Removal of Angel Island as a stage.
-
I was meaning to check out this version, but also knowing that it's been a long time since I last played this mod, figured going for a Full Game Run was worth a try.
From what I noticed, there's a new project in the works (known as Super Edition: 2022 Rehydrated). If something does happen to get released anytime this year, I'm definitely open to checking it out.
- Two things to note -
For one, there was a point where I had to use Debug Mode just to get out of a glitched floor in Sky Chase (Mirage Saloon Act 1). Two, there was probably 2 things missing after finishing the playthrough I was thinking of adding to this, the intro stage to Hyper Mode & Hyper Modes special stages. However with the special stages, I completely forgot how much a pain the encore mode version was, but I can say visually it does look cool!
