CME procedure for R colonic cancers has gained popularity like the TME for rectal cancer. Both procedure remove the colon cancer along with its covering fascial envelope. CME has shown to increase the lymph node yield thus improving local recurrence rates. This data is however not randomised. Lap CME is technically challenging and caries morbidity. Damage to the small venous tributaries can cause severe bleeding. In young parents with node positive R sided cancers CME should be attempted for a better long term survival.
