If you’re familiar with AYKO, you’ll know he sees his craft as a sort of alchemy - reinterpreting the emotional input of life experiences into musical form. When AYKO takes a seat at the table he comes with not just any track, but rather a profound concept translated into a song. The next emotionally rich track from the Italian DJ/producer is “Take My Hands,” releasing on his self-owned Langhewood Records.
Embroidered with trance-like elements, “Take My Hands'' immediately captures the listener’s ear with slow piano plucks that effortlessly transform into progressive house chords. A nuanced kick-snare pattern backed by layered ascending synths give a feeling akin to taking a leap of faith into the ether. Meanwhile, breathy vocals and poignant lyrics channel a message of desire to be accompanied on this life’s journey by our loved ones, yet still hints at sorrow over past hurt.
Breathing even more life into the project is an artsy music video released alongside the track. Like a blink of an eye, between the strobe-like flashes one can see eerie scenes behind a Medusa-like figure with a maniacal look in her eyes. Mark your calendars - “Take My Hands” is set to release on 12 November.
