Firestorm: 72 Hours in Oakland (1993)
The story of one of the greatest fire disasters in U.S. history, the 1991 Oakland Hills firestorm that swept through communities in Northern California, destroying thousands of homes and killing 25 people.
Firestorm: 72 Hours in Oakland dramatizes the terrifying hours as residents, firefighters and emergency crews found themselves facing a fast-moving disaster that quickly overwhelmed neighborhoods and escape routes.
Unlike a purely fictional disaster movie, there’s something particularly unsettling about watching this one knowing that the catastrophe actually happened. People had to make decisions quickly, sometimes with little warning, about what to take, where to go and what they were willing to leave behind.
💥 THIS MOVIE GOT US THINKING ABOUT FIRE PREPAREDNESS
One unexpected thing this film made me think about was a question I’d never really considered before:
What would I do if I only had 30 minutes?
What would I grab? Where would I go? And would I actually be prepared to protect my home if I had the opportunity?
That’s one reason Fire Safe Gel caught my attention. It’s the kind of product you hope you’ll never need, but I’d rather know something like this exists before an emergency than discover it afterward.
Take a look at Fire Safe Gel for yourself and see how it works. If you live somewhere where wildfires are a real possibility, this may be one of those preparedness products worth knowing about.
