"-- Not some object!" Based on a real-life story from Australia. The Chamberlain family-- Michael (Sam Neill), a pastor with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lindy (Streep), and their three children-- are on a church camping trip in the Australian Outback in 1980. They leave baby Azaria alone briefly in their tent, sleeping-- when Lindy goes to check on her, she witnesses a horrifying event. She screama, "A dingo got my baby!" -- but the authorities will not believe her. She is charged with the murder of her daughter, and she is tried in the court of public opinion. Her demeanor comes off as cold and calculating, and the case makes her notorious. With Bruce Myles as the prosecutor. Screenplay by Robert Caswell and Fred Schepisi, based upon the book by John Bryson. Cinematography by Ian Baker, edited by Jill Bilcock. Directed by Schepisi, 1988. Released in Australia as "Evil Angels." Read more about Streep's performance at https://streepcry.blogspot.com
