Nose Examination OSCE and Nasal Cavity Inspection - Clinical Skills - Dr Gill One of the commonest presentations requiring a nose examination is a patient reporting epistaxis or a nose bleed. The examination of the nose should first review the external nose, looking for evidence of deviation. The nose exam then requires the use of a speculum or other instrument to assess the nasal cavity to review; the anterior nasal septum, mucosal membranes, and any sign of damage to Little's Area. It is important in the case of trauma, that a septal haematoma is ruled out. Assessment of the nose should also include a review of the turbinates, and any possible polyps, although only the largest of these would normally be visible here #NoseExam #ENT #DrGill You can now consult via video or in person with Dr Gill at Dr Finlay’s Private Practice - https://www.drfinlays.co.uk/services/video-consultation/ 00:00 - Introduction and Patient Verification 00:19 - Examination Overview 01:05 - Lymph Nodes Examination 01:38 - Speculum Examination of the Nose 02:41 - Checking Around the Eyes 02:52 - Eye Movement and Vision Check 03:14 - Conclusion and Patient Reassurance
