From the teaser and the time gab of 4 months it seems this Series is going to be a huge disappointment... "betraying" the very first Thai Gay Lakorn (TV Drama) "รักแปดพันเก้า - Rak PAET PHAN KAO = LOVE 8009" produced by the TV Channel MCOT 9 back in 2004. In that Thai Lakorn the lead TEE (acted by RI Puri Hiranpruk) is a famous TV actor who falls in love with his personal accountant CHON (acted by the very first actor I felt in love with: HACK Rungruang Anataya) and get photographed by paparazzi in a compromising position inside his car; creating a scandal that leads him into a LIVE interview in a famous TV show. Despite of the advice of his manager TEE is unable to denied everything and ends up telling the truth. We can say that TEE from LOVE 8009 is the very first gay character in a TV Drama who makes his coming out official for the entire country this way, because of his love for CHON. That scene from Episode 9 is so well done... with TEE trying to answer the questions but having flash back memories of his most happy moments with CHON, resulting on him telling the truth. Too bad this Thai Lakorn is not available online (at least I have not been able to find it) for me to share links for you to see it. For me personally this is the best Thai Gay Lakorn ever made still today.
17 years later we should actually expect from ALL BL characters to be as brave as TEE was... just to keep on being disappointed by most Series. Sometimes is due to family rejections... sometimes from being afraid of coming out and the public opinion. It feels like we have non of the many legal rights the Thai LGBT+ community has become... specially those regarding the bans on discrimination; which include the Labor Protection Act. We need more Series like "Cause You're My Boy" and "The Shipper"... wow... that makes just 2 Series so far... with BL characters strong enough to face not only their families but also the social adversities they find in their lives. We need many more MORKs and KIMs to avenge any injustices ahead. But instead we are just going to be terribly disappointed from a Thai BL Series airing in 2021... which claims to be "criticizing" something that does not exists... because is simply illegal. I was so proud of how the Thai actor NEW THITIPOOM did regarding a similar issue involving his BL partner TAI TAWAN and his girlfriend. That is the best and most known precedence case on this matter that we had in Thailand in the last years. Because of that NEW stopped working and doing any promotional works together with TAI for almost one entire year, just to break their BL Idols couple image; and stand for his girlfriend.

The Thai BL reality is not the one portrayed in LOVELY WRITER... because we don't have such cowards as GENE in real life. ALL the actors have their contracts and any clause regulating their private life in any way is simply illegal in Thailand.
