Learn to fix an ugly lawn full of weeds so that you don't have to re-sod the entire lawn. I am taking on a project to restore my neighbor's ugly lawn that has been neglected for decades. The first step for me to to apply a pre and post emergent combination. The pre emergent herbicide will help to control summer weeds like crabgrass. Without that, there is generally too many weeds for the bermuda grass to spread. The post emergent is to help get rid of any existing weeds. After this, I will wait for warmer weather and then come back to fertilize the lawn. This will help the existing turfgrass spread to fill in the bare areas. I believe the lawn will be much improved by summer.
