The nose stud I had was a thread-less flat-back. I think the piercer may have bent it a bit too much which led me to spending 45 minutes trying to get it out. That was, until I found the most efficient way to remove a jammed nose piercing (thanks REDDIT). This method works super fast but is best if you don't mind damaging the nose stud in the process.
