Eden Lake (2008) is the best British Horror film in recent years. I review a modern torture horror film that was written off as torture porn, but is brilliantly observed class commentary with a brave choice of horror. A class analysis of Eden Lake is controversial, but essential to understanding one of the best 2000s horror films and the idea of 'stabbing down'. Huge credit to director James Watkins, Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender, as well as anyone who gets through my indulgent AMV section.
