Easy rockhounding on road beds in the Jemez Mountains Go east from the Paliza Campground near Ponderosa, New Mexico on Forest Service Road 266 to find agate, chalcedony and Apache Tear obsidian in the roads, drainages and hills. 4 wheel drive vehicles strongly recommended.
