We have been very careful to neatly detail the required steps to understand much better how a pleated/tufted diamond design is shaped. I have used for this project a pigmented/top finished upholstery leather 1.3 mm thick. Thick leathers are not easy to handle while forming the pleats. Regularly, diamond tufted designs are performed with thinner (0.8 to 1 mm) pliable leathers, fabrics, vinyl, faux leather, etc. To get a wider idea on these upholstery designs it is important to study the other related youtube videos. I hope you enjoy and find this video useful!
