Introduction to the Wood White Butterfly

This is one of FSC virtual meet ups (VMUs) on Zoom which we started running in response to the COVID-19 lockdown. They are free natural history webinars. In each meet up we, or a guest speaker, give a presentation on topics such as ecology, easy to identify species/groups, or projects/recording schemes we can all get involved with. In this webinar we were joined by Caz Temple, Project Officer on Butterfly Conservations's Woodland Wings project. The Wood White butterfly is one of our most threatened butterflies, having suffered major declines nationally since the 1970s. Caz provides an overview of the butterfly, how to record and conserve the species, highlighting specific examples from the Woodland Wings Project area in Northamptonshire. You can find out more about Wood White on the species factsheet Caz mentioned here: https://butterfly-conservation.org/sites/default/files/wood-white.pdf You can find out more about Butterfly Conservation's work and how to identify butterflies here: https://butterfly-conservation.org/ If you'd like to book onto a future webinar, you can book here: https://www.field-studies-council.org...
