Antifa counter-protest GPO 8/8/2020

Antifa protestors gathered at the GPO to counter-protest the 'Lockdown Protest'. Up to 50 people attended the Lockdown Protest to march to RTE shortly after 1.30. Gemma O'Doherty lead the march from the GPO. The march was then attacked by Antifa on O'Connell Bridge up in to D'Olier St. where Gardai eventually prevented Antifa from stopping the march. A short time later Antifa returned to the middle island at the GPO, a handful of supporters of the Lockdown protest had gathered under the columns of the GPO. Gardai were being placed in position as Antifa gathered more members. It wasn't long for tempers flared and Antifa surged towards the Columns of the GPO while Garda were trying to push them back.
