This lesson will focus on something that is usually quite tricky for language learners, of any level. Iโ€™m talking about verb patterns, the fact that when 2 verbs appear together in a sentence the second one of them normally suffers a transformation. Today we will practise using verbs followed by GERUND and verbs followed by To-INFINITIVE. These verb patterns will be divided, explained and practised in three main group: 00:00 Introduction 02:58 1) Some verbs are followed only by gerund (ing), some verbs are followed only by to-infinitive. 05:15 2) Some verbs can be followed either by gerund or infinitive without any change in meaning. 08:14 3) Some verbs can be followed by either gerund or infinitive with big changes in meaning. Watch our lesson, clear up your doubts, test yourself completing the sentences that weโ€™ve prepared for you with the right verb pattern and, the most important thing, practise and practise as much as possible in your everyday conversation.
