The Zondo Commission has heard that former police minister Nkosinathi Nhleko, who appointed a convicted felon as his chief of staff, was not aware of the conviction when he hired Leon Mbangwa. Nhleko was testifying before the state capture commission on Monday after he had been implicated by several people, including the former head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, Robert McBride.
