Written By Security BSides Athens on Saturday, Jun 27, 2020 | 04:28 PM

Abstract: Information Security is still a challenge globally, and this is unlikely to ever change as we evolve and innovate new solutions for home and industry. Wherever you currently sit within the InfoSec field, it is a mature and increasingly well-defined subject. Whether your interests be GRC, Red Teaming and Penetration Testing, forensics and incident response or DevSecOps, this industry is here to stay and is rapidly forming standards. But what have these standards been build on and what can we learn from the security models of the past, before the internet existed and IT became commonplace. Have these practices influenced our modern day strategies and what can we still learn and use from them? This talk will take you on a journey through some historic, but still surprisingly relevant, security models and strategies and will examine how they still apply to us today and what we can incorporate into the modern agile world. Bio: Campbell Murray is currently the Global Head of Cybersecurity delivery at BlackBerry, who's team provides consultancy to clients all over the world. Campbell is committed to furthering education and was a founder of both the TigerScheme and CyberScheme UK accreditation bodies. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Security BSides Athens 2020 CyberSecurity | InfoSec | Ethical Hacking | Computer Security | Evolving Threats | Threat Landscape | Privacy | Cyber Resilience Security BSides is a community-driven framework for building events by and for information security community members.
